A Community Comes Together for Its Children

What happens when a city works together in the name of its youngest residents? In 2017 Razgrad residents showed us what is possible by raising, in less than a month, almost 30,000 levs to bring home The Inventions, Muzeiko’s traveling exhibit. As a result, for more than a year, children from the region transformed into brave explorers and, with the help of games and other activities, became acquainted with the nineteenth and twentieth centuries’ greatest inventions.

The Inventions enjoys strong attendance, even at off-peak times, due to the exhibition’s popularity with school groups. The exhibit’s Facebook page is updated almost daily with photos and comments from visitors. “It was really fun. We forgot about our cell phones for a while!” a local high school student wrote.

We visited Razgrad on March 23 to thank the exhibition hosts and present another Muzeiko educational exhibit, Stroejko, a fun construction site for builders of all ages. Like The Inventions, Stroejko will allow children from the region to expand their knowledge of science through play and fun activities.

With the help of thousands of building blocks, wooden pieces, and toy bricks, young engineers will compete in building the highest towers, strongest houses, and longest highways. Play with building blocks develops children’s logical and spatial thinking, agility and sense of balance, ability to work with others, creative thinking and cognition, and fine motor skills.
