Giving is noble, but where should you place your hard-earned cash and your trust?
While it is impossible to answer every cry for help and to support every worthy cause, even a small contribution on your part can encourage those who have made a commitment to tackle a specific problem. It will also prove that those who care in Bulgaria outnumber those who are indifferent.
Today, it is easier than ever to support a cause thanks to the BulgariaGives platform.
A joint initiative of the country’s largest nonprofits, BulgariaGives aims to facilitate charitable giving by matching potential donors to the right cause or organization. The platform, online at bulgariadariava.bg, lists active campaigns and initiatives by reputable organizations around the country. To be considered for inclusion, organizations need to hold themselves to the highest standards of transparency and accountability and embrace tolerance and nondiscrimination as part of their ethical codes. Every organization and campaign appearing on the platform has been vetted by the organizers.
You can choose from over 110 organizations working in 22 regions around Bulgaria. Every second organization listed in the platform has national coverage (UNICEF and the Bulgarian Red Cross are examples). Active campaigns are searchable by type and region. Brief, concise appeals present the organizations’ goals and needs and provide information on how to donate.
A national drive for donations will take place on March 22-31, 2019.
Most campaigns are active throughout the year as well, and donations can be made at any time. Beneficiaries are required to issue regular reports on how the donations have been used.
